Thanksgiving is approaching with the remembrance of its desire. Regardless, of falsified history concerning its origin the gift of being grateful stands bold and mighty without refute. This nation has experienced blessings in many forms. Prosperity has been a huge gift to many while others have been overlooked in plights of poverty. Though the footprint of our great nation has lingering evidence of misguided souls we still must celebrate the gift of freedom. The acceptance in our individuality and our right to worship. Common ground is available through our compassion and gratitude for living in freedom amongst the diverse beauty of God’s creation. Hues of varying melanin expressions journey alongside one another daily. Legacies of generations tell the story of the free and those shackled in chains of slavery.

I celebrate this Thanksgiving in the remembrance of my ancestor’s tenacious fight. The depth of my ancestry cascades through my caramel skins luster without an embittered heart. The evidential branding of Africa’s opulence upon my soul. Though slaves lived in chains of torture hope in freedom’s coming ignited the endurance to fight in faith for a better tomorrow.

This day forward may we love our neighbors of European descent without the stagnating corruption of unforgiveness. May the legacies of Caucasian's turmoiled by the stain of its plunder see the worth of another's precious soul. Amid this joyful decree is the embracing love to our Latino cultures of diverse lineage. The aroma of the orient and the spices of its legacy fill this nation alongside the many interwoven communities of vast antecedents.

Oh, to capture the hope in loving the many distinct hues and characteristics of our heavenly Father’s artistic creativity! In this very season is our opportunity to shine before nations in the healing power of gratitude and love. Freedom to live, love and linger in the presence of hope. Free to speak in our convictions. Robust in the worship of the creator of the heavens, and all the delicacies of this earth. Taking our youth collectively in cultivating a sense of unity will deny the defiling pestilence to take root. Pestilence of yesteryears transgressions to rot the souls of our youth once again. The stench of racial discord degrading our lives to the vermin of embittered hearts. What has this legacy of unforgiveness brought us? Not one single joy, yet the persistent infirmity that bitterness brings. Generation after generation of angry souls suffocating in the toxicity of their resentments.

This Thanksgiving season take a moment to empathize, not criticize the uniqueness of people from all genetic pools of diverse cultures. Always remaining true to oneself and the worship of the Father, Son and Holy Spirit. For if Lord God created us what right do, we “own” to negate the life and worth of another human being?

This Thanksgiving season make the decision to live in the inner prosperity of freedom. Healing one another in forgiving love. Deny spoils of evil to absorb into the networking of the heart, soul, and spirit. Awaken daily with gratitude regardless of current circumstances. The circumstances we may face are by far better than the circumstances of many worldwide. The power in maintaining the sincerities of hope is in the faith of our creator’s authority.

“Thanks be to God for his inexpressible gift!”

2 Corinthians 9:15
